Job Description for Spa

- Ensure all dealings with guests at the spa and salon area to meet or exceed the hotels operating standards.

- Ensure the guest experience is relaxing and in accordance with the hotel’s standards.
- Ensure the health and safety of guests and employees are paramount at all times.
- Ensure consistent spa experience development to ensure that innovation and uniqueness is maintained.
- Ensure proper inventories of all operating spa equipment are conduct in the line with audit standards in order to effectively manage operational cost.
- Ensure that the spa team adhere to all hotel’s and company operational and service standards.
- Ensure that spa department follows business conduct and ethics.
- Ensure that spa department follows hotel policies and procedures including health, hygiene, emergency and fire prevention.
- Ensure that the spa department follows safety and maintain confidentially for all guests and colleagues at all times.
- Ensure all spa wellness and salon equipment is maintained in good working order at all the times.
- Ensure that all stock and cash items are kept safely under lock and key.
- Able to provide guidance,encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes.
- Able to achieve high performance and operational standards.
- Able to liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of the spa operations.
- Able to handle any guest complaints or special requirements.
- Able to promote and sell spa programs to groups, conference guests walk-in etc.

- Able to implement and monitor up-selling strategies to maximize spa ans salon operational revenue.
- Able to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer appropriate options,solutions and resolutions.
- Be the single point of contact for Dignitaries, VIP and VVIP guests and co-ordinate their spa experience.
- Responsible for checking and overseeing all guest settlements like cash,cc,room settlements etc.
- Responsible to identify and target specific market segments for potential corporate clientele to promote spa services.
- Responsible to develop strong product quality and treatment measures.
- Responsible to monitor and analyse the products and services of competitive spas, to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Responsible for the department training plan and conduct hands-on training for the new recruitment .
- Responsible for reviewing all guest feedback results and implements improvements to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for spa employee’s weekly duty schedules and staff duty charts.
- Coordinate with the engineering dept to ensure proper repair and preventive maintenance works of all spa equipment.
- Regularly monitor all equipment for the proper functioning in the spa and salon area to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
- Prepare annual budget and business plan to ensure spa operation is adequately represented.
- Recruit and train spa employees in accordance with hotels or company sop and guidelines.
- Monitor and review spa employee’s performance regularly and provide required guidance.
- Manage spa inventory effectively, and follow hotel/company purchasing standards to ensure audit compliance.
- Hold regular staff meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the spa’s operation.
- Gather information and remain fully informed of local and international trends in spa operations.
- Perform a regular inventory of spa par levels for retail and operational stocks.
- Raise store requisitions of all retail and operational items as and when required.
- Perform any other duties that management may reasonably require.
- Attend daily morning HOD meeting.
- Passionate about the spa and salon world.
- Willing to deliver the best service and experience to our guests.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, team, and communication skills are essential.
- Strong working knowledge of ms office.
- Strong working knowledge of spa , membership and recreational software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business administration or Degree/Diploma in hotel/ hospitality management.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 year’s experience as a spa Manager in a luxury hotel or a well established SPA brand.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Schedule guest appointments.
- Arrange workstation, treatment room,and drapes.
- Helps promoting the massage to the spa members and the hotel guests.
- Monitor stock levels of oil and creams and ensure that par stock levels are maintained all the times.
- Provides individualized bodywork treatments that meet the guests needs and expectations.
- Be thoroughly familiar and able to recommend Spa products and treatments as well as know pertinent hotel information.
- Obtains the basic medical history for a client,assesses any problems or conditions and suggests appropriate therapy based on current health of client.
- Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications like any allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy before beginning the service.
- Maintain spa and treatment room appearance, cleanliness according to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of hours of operation , memberships , reservations , fees, treatments , product and merchandise as well as pertinent hotel information.
- Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms and resource materials ;report shortage to supervisor/manager.
- Be familiar with all hotel/spa packages, promotions,prices and rates.
- Ensures that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the spa.
- Provide massage services to guests using props and /or products.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment ,Also use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests,however busy and whatever time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times and maintain client details and confidentiality.
- Try to resolve guest complaints,ensuring guest satisfaction and inform the management about any incidents or guests complaints.
- Handle emergency procedures and report any accidents to your manager and security.
- Handle inappropriate guest behaviour as per the hotels standard operating procedures for inappropriate conduct for guests and therapists.
- Frequently check with guest to promote comfort,safety and security throughout service.
- Fill out necessary reports or data at the end of each session.
- Attend all scheduled meetings, classes and training sessions; knowledge required within the spa must be passed on to co-workers.
- Assists with washing and folding of all linens used in treatment rooms.
- Assists in all areas of recreation and leisure operation as and when required.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by management.
- Physically fit and in good health( strength is not a major requirement, but stamina is necessary).
- Caring,positive attitude to clients.
- Genuine interest in helping clients overcome their physicals problems.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of deep meditation and relaxation.
- High school diploma.Diploma or degree in a related field. Basic computer skills.
- Minimum 2 year’s massage experience in a luxury spa environment, preferably within a full service or luxury hotel.

As the manager of the spa ,he /she would play a very important role in the day to day operations of the SPA and salon department.should strive to maintain and motivate the entire SPA team, and also able to create a culture of care and service excellence among employees.
Able to develop and implement SPA operational goals , policies and procedures. Additionally responsible for leading the efficient and effective spa operations including short and long-term strategic planning.

Position Summary
